It is our pleasure to announce that the Georgia Concrete & Products Association (GC&PA), established 1968, has changed its name to the Georgia Ready Mixed Concrete Association (GRMCA), effective June 2014.
Our Board of Directors feels that this new name most appropriately identifies who we are and what we do. In recent years, our organization has shifted its focus from a variety of concrete products to strictly on ready mixed concrete.
Along with this new name, we debut a new logo and a new tagline: Building Georgia Strong
The goal of our association’s rebranding campaign is to better and more easily identify our membership and who we represent–the ready mixed concrete producer.
Our membership is clearly identified within the organization’s new name, as well as the new logo, which prominently features a concrete mixer truck. In designing a new look for the organization we sought to convey a professional and clean image that featured the most distinctive piece of equipment associated with our industry. The color green was chosen because of concrete’s value as an environmentally friendly product.
By reducing the confusion surrounding our brand, the GRMCA is able to more accurately and efficiently represent our membership and their interests.
About the industry:
While there are a number of statewide organizations whose members have an interest in concrete products and applications, the GRMCA is the sole voice of the ready mixed concrete industry of Georgia. Our industry is distinctive and readily identifiable by our concrete mixer trucks. We are the only segment of the concrete industry who own and operate these trucks.
Ready mixed concrete is a local business and our members range from small independent operations to vertically integrated, multinational corporations. The typical service area for a single ready mix plant is at most a 30-40 mile radius. Our industry employs Georgia citizens, pays Georgia taxes, and serves every community in every city and county of the state.
Residential construction has been and always will be the primary catalyst for the health of our industry. Growth in the commercial sector is also essential and accounts for the bulk of our work beyond residential.
We look forward to engaging with various industry partners and outside groups as the Georgia Ready Mixed Concrete Association.
