Georgia Power to Recycle 2 Million Tons of Fly Ash in 2020

We would like to commend Georgia Power for their recent announcement of their new coal ash beneficial reuse project of Plant Mitchell in Albany, GA. This news is outstanding for our industry!

With this addition, two million tons of coal ash will be removed from ash ponds to be recycled to manufacture Portland Cement beginning this year! Georgia Power has also partnered with the Electric Power Research Institute to open an "Ash Beneficial Use Center" in 2020 to test to identify and test the development of beneficial uses of coal ash.
