Overzealous Local Zoning Stymies New Residential Construction in Georgia says HBAG

The Home Builders Association of Georgia (HBAG) often partners with the GRMCA on public policy issues debated at the Georgia Capitol. Recently, HBAG's Director of Government Affairs, Austin Hackney, was a featured speaker at the GRMCA Annual Meeting in Ponte Vedra Beach and penned this guest column highlighting how local governments in Georgia are reducing themselves to city and county-wide HOAs with overzealous regulations on residential construction that slow new construction and price first time homebuyers out of the market. The GRMCA is at the tip of the spear along with HBAG, the Georgia Association of Realtors, and others on reducing these onerous regulations.
