GRMCA Committees

Whether you have just joined or been a member for years, your direct involvement in the GRMCA helps you, your company, and the industry. Committees are a simple way to volunteer your time, help shape the industry and get to know other members! 

Legislative Committee

Chairman: Richard Davis, Wayne Davis Concrete
Our legislative committee will monitor and address legislative and regulatory matters that affect the concrete industry. This group will be responsible for helping to develop and promote our legislative agenda. Members of the committee will represent GRMCA at political events and fundraisers throughout the year.

Mission Statement: The mission of the Legislative Committee is to promote the growth and development of the ready mixed concrete industry in Georgia. We will communicate the needs of our industry and our role in improving the quality of transportation and infrastructure in GA to our elected officials. We will review bills and initiatives, educate our members, and garner community engagement to support legislation that ensures our growth. We will build strategic partnerships with GTA, GHCA, GCAA and other industry groups for the continued health of our industry and, thus a stronger Georgia.  

Technical Committee

Chairman: Justin Lazenby, Thomas Concrete
Our Technical Committee will act as a forum to address technical issues facing producers.  The committee will stay on the cutting edge of concrete technology and will identify and disseminate industry best practices. The committee has identified three subcommittees: Testing & Certifications, GDOT, and Education

Mission Statement: The mission of the GRMCA Technical Committee is to lead the continual improvement of ready mixed concrete technologies and placement practices in Georgia.  We will achieve our mission by providing oversight and guidance in education, research, specifications, sustainability, technical support, and best practices for the proper placement and testing of ready mix concrete. We will support ACI and other industry related certifications, partner with GDOT and assist all GRMCA committees, and other industry groups to accomplish objectives for the betterment of the Georgia ready mixed industry

Safety, Environmental & Sustainability Committee

Chairman: Joseph Arp, Wayne Davis Concrete
This committee will be dedicated to workplace injury and accident prevention.  The focus of this committee will be on compliance, best practices, and keeping abreast of regulatory changes affecting the industry.  

Mission Statement: GRMCA’s Safety, Environmental, & Sustainability Committee's mission is to empower our members and concrete industry in Georgia with the knowledge, tools, and resources to set the standard for operational safety. We will help to ensure our members have best practices in place which will enable the ready mix concrete industry of Georgia to meet current environmental demands and do so in ways that are not only sustainable but also help to solidify our position in the future as the construction material of choice in Georgia.

Fleet & Plant Committee

Chairman: Whit Brown, Thomas Concrete
This committee will focus on truck safety, supply chain management, statutory requirements, technology advancements, sustainability and more. The committee will oversee the planning and implementation of the Annual GRMCA Driver Skills Championship held in the Spring and hosts an Annual Forum each Winter.

Workforce Development Committee

Chairman: DJ Ernst, Ernst Concrete
​The Workforce Development Committee will meet to review and discuss issues affecting the industry in the area of Human Resources. This committee will focus on training, hiring and recruiting and improving conditions and environment and conditions for our industry.

Mission Statement: The GRMCA Workforce Development Committee's mission is to make a positive impact on our industry’s culture and workplace. We will collaborate with our membership to encourage a more rewarding environment for all current and future employees. The committee will focus on developing best practices for hiring and retention, leadership and job skill development, improved work-life balance, and overall employee satisfaction.
